The Public Library for Union County, headquarters for the three-member Union County Library System, offers public access to a wide range of materials, programs, and services. Located at 255 Reitz Boulevard in the Brookpark Farm development, the library is open Monday through Saturday.

Herr Memorial Library, founded in 1944, serves residents of the Borough of Mifflinburg and surrounding communities. The library's materials collection includes books, books on tape and CD, movies on DVD, and an extensive Pennsylvania history and genealogy collection.

West End Library offers public access to a wide range of materials, programs, and services to residents of Hartley Township. Along with the Hartley Township Recreation and Youth Center and the Field of Dreams ball park, the library is part of the Laurel Run Activity Complex.
