The basement is full at The Public Library for Union County, which is getting ready to hold the the area’s largest used book sale July 21-24. Library staff requests that residents hold off donating any more items until Aug. 2, when the library will be able to take materials for future sales.
More than 45,000 items will be available during this year’s fundraising book sale that will be held in the gymnasium of Faith Lutheran Church across from the entrance to Brookpark Farm. All materials are sorted, and new materials will be put out daily.
Shoppers will be able to choose from hardcover and paperback books, as well as audiobooks, videotapes, audio tapes, CDs, and DVDs. Popular titles, classics, out-of-print books, pre-1940 books, art books, craft books, cookbooks, children’s books, and how-to manuals are just some of the materials that will be on hand.
Bags for books will be provided by the library, and the cost is $15 per bag. For one or a few books, a smaller amount will be accepted. Items in the “Special Value” section in a room just off the gymnasium will be priced individually.
The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wed., July 21, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thurs., July 22, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fri., July 23, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., July 24. Donations for the 2010 sale will be accepted through Sun., July 11.
